13 OCTOBER 2023 – ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (ProtectHealth) commends and stands in full support of the Government’s unwavering dedication towards providing ongoing healthcare support to the B40 group, as announced in the Belanjawan 2024 today.
Following the budget announcement today by the Prime Minister and Finance Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, ProtectHealth welcomes the allocation of RM41.2 billion to the Ministry of Health (MOH), which is a testimony on the Government’s steadfast commitment towards ensuring the welfare and health of the Rakyat are well-taken care of. ProtectHealth supports the Government initiatives to cater for the B40 group through Skim Perubatan MADANI.
As the implementor for Skim Perubatan MADANI, ProtectHealth continues to work with the Private General Practitioner (GP) clinics to provide Acute Primary Care Services to ensure that the B40 group is able to access to the medical and health care.
With an allocation of RM100 million for Skim Perubatan MADANI, ProtectHealth is confident that the programme will benefit approximately 700,000 households in 2024. The eligible beneficiaries will have access to Acute Primary Care Services at registered GPs at no cost which will ease their financial burden. At the same time, it will enhance the well-being of low-income individuals. As of 12 October 2023, 240,000 Skim Perubatan MADANI treatments had been administered, with around 150,000 households benefited from the programme.
The inclusivity of Belanjawan 2024 will be beneficial to Malaysians, especially those in the B40 group. It also contributes to the enhancement of the national health system in line with the objectives of the 12th Malaysia Plan’s which aim at restructuring the country’s healthcare system.
