Collaboration pledges up to 100,000 free influenza vaccines as an entry point to preventive health screening for underserved B40 communities.

PETALING JAYA —  Qualitas Medical Group Sdn. Bhd. (“Qualitas”) and ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (“ProtectHealth”) are collaborating through the QVAXB40 initiative to encourage more eligible Malaysians to undergo health screening under the recently rebranded PeKa Sihat programme, formerly known as PeKa B40.

Under the collaboration, Qualitas has pledged up to 100,000 free influenza vaccine doses for eligible PeKa Sihat beneficiaries through its clinic network nationwide, while ProtectHealth will coordinate beneficiary eligibility, program implementation, and collaboration with relevant government agencies. Beneficiaries are encouraged to receive both influenza vaccination and PeKa Sihat health screening during the same clinic visit.

The QVAXB40 initiative strengthens ProtectHealth’s ongoing efforts to increase health screening uptake among eligible B40 communities while promoting influenza vaccination as an additional measure of preventive care. Together, both organisations aim to leverage their respective networks and capabilities to reach more eligible beneficiaries and encourage greater participation in health screening program.

As of Sep 2026, 2.1 million Malaysians have undergone health screening under the PeKa Sihat program.

“PeKa Sihat is about helping Malaysians detect health conditions early, before they become more serious. Through QVAXB40, we are strengthening outreach and making it easier for eligible individuals to access health screening and preventive care,” said Wan Mohd Hazwan Najib, Chief Executive Officer of ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn. Bhd.

“Healthcare providers play an important role in promoting prevention, not just treatment. QVAXB40 demonstrates how the private sector can work alongside ProtectHealth to encourage health screening and support healthier communities across Malaysia,” said Dr. Ramon Varughese, Chief Executive Officer, Primary Care, Qualitas Health Malaysia.

By combining vaccination with health screening, the initiative supports earlier detection of health risks, improves access to preventive care, and contributes to better long-term health outcomes for underserved communities. The collaboration supports the Government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery through PeKa Sihat.

From 2027 onwards, the PeKa Sihat programme is expected to introduce an additional non-communicable disease (NCD) management benefit for selected beneficiaries. This will link early detection to ongoing care, helping to prevent disease progression and reduce the risk of complications.
